Obituary

Glenis Gibson Bradford, born on August 4, 1955, peacefully passed away on May 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. The beloved daughter of the late Lizzie R. King and Chansie Gibson Sr., Glenis lived a life full of grace, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. She was the cherished wife of Zack Bradford Sr., with whom she shared a beautiful life and had three wonderful children: the late Zackary Bradford, Zack Bradford Jr., and Roxie Zatilia Bradford. Glenis will be remembered for her patience, compassion for others, her devotion to faith, her gentle spirit and love she poured into her family and all who knew her.

Glenis is from a large, loving family. She was the 11th of 18 children. Although she wasn't the oldest sister, she naturally took on the role of the big sister in the household. Glenis had a deep love and passion for cooking, finding peace and comfort in the warmth of the kitchen. Her meals were more than just food—they were expressions of care and a way to bring her family together. She made sure that everyone was well-groomed, well-fed, and deeply loved, always nurturing those around.

Glenis grew to be a loving and nurturing wife and mother, building a life rooted in faith, family, and unconditional love. She was united in marriage to Zack Bradford Sr., and together they created a beautiful family filled with joy, laughter, and a deep spiritual foundation. A devoted member of Promiseland Apostolic Church under the leadership of Pastor Florine W. Thomas, Glenis lived by her favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13—"I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me"—and through that strength, she held her family close and uplifted them through every season of life. Glenis and Zack Sr. were blessed with three children, and their legacy continued with five cherished grandchildren: Zhane', Zackary, Zoah, Kaeton, and the late Onyx. Glenis took great joy in pouring her love, wisdom, and warmth into her grandchildren, nurturing each one with the same tenderness and care that defined her.

Glenis dedicated 31 years of distinguished service to the Dougherty County School System in the School Nutrition Department, where she left a lasting impact on countless young lives. Her work was more than a job—it was a calling. Through every meal she prepared and every smile she offered, Glenis shared her love, compassion, and wisdom with the students she served. She found deep fulfillment in working with children, as it brought her a sense of comfort and connection, reminding her of her own upbringing in a large, close-knit family. Her presence in the schools was not only felt in the nourishment she provided, but in the warmth and care she gave so freely each day.

Glenis leaves behind her devoted husband, Zack Bradford Sr.; her loving children, Zack Bradford Jr. and Roxie Zatilia Bradford; and her beloved grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life. She is also survived by a host of cherished sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless others whose lives she touched with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love. Glenis's presence was a gift to all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever live on in our hearts. Her legacy of love, strength, and faith will continue to shine through the family she nurtured and the many lives she blessed.
