Remembering An Angel

On April 12, 1958, God sent an angel to earth.  This beautiful baby girl was born to the late Mae Bell and Wallace George.  They decided to call her Gloria.  Gloria Jean George lived up to her name because she was indeed glorious.

Faithful Servant

Gloria accepted Christ at a young age and became a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.  She continued her faithful service by sharing encouraging words and prayers with everyone she met.  She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  She continued her walk with Christ by joining Pleasant Hill Missionary Bapist Church in 2009.

Education and Work

She attended Baker County High School where she graduated in 1977.  After high school, she began working at Amos Manufacturing for a number of years.  She attended Bainbridge State College where she received a degree in Criminal Justice.  She then pursued a career in nursing and received an Associate's  degree in Nursing from Bainbridge State College.  She continued her career in nursing as a home health care aid until her health declined.

Loved Ones

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Mae Bell and Wallace George; and two siblings, Loray (Ross) George and Wilson (Ruth Ella) George.

She leaves cherished memories to three devoted daughters, Clarenda George  and Shere George of Colquitt, GA, and Shana (Devonta) George of Atlanta, GA; and one loving grandson, Caiden "CJ" George.

She also leaves behind ten siblings, Gwen George, Eloise George, Verdell (Joe) Snell, Mary Pearl Houston, Irma (L.C.) Curry of Colquitt, GA, Marion (Willie Joe) Marshall of Brinson, GA, Wallace (Debra) George of Blakely, GA, Albert (Harold) Field of Quincy, FL, Jeraldine (Charles) Bryant of Dublin, GA, and Brenda (Willie Jay) Curry of Damascus, GA; two god-brothers, Randy Gordon and Bernard (Deborah) George of Albany, GA; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
