Gloria Ann Morris was born in Camilla, Georgia on July 19, 1955. She was the daughter of the late Louise and Zello Jackson.
She received her formal education in the Baker County School System, including East Baker High School where she was active in numerous school organizations and functions.
As a youth, Gloria professed her faith and belief in Christ and united with the St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church. Having been blessed with the gift of song, she utilized her talents as she sang praises in the Choir. She dearly loved the Lord and was a faithful servant who willingly helped wherever needed.
She was united in holy matrimony to Alex Morris who preceded her in death.
Gloria was a phenomenal, loving, witty, and kind woman who put a lot of effort into making others happy. She always had a positive attitude, was quick to smile and laugh, and was an expert at making people feel special. Regardless of the circumstances, she was always there to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return. Family and friends were her among her greatest cherished gifts. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who saw the beauty in all things and accepted everyone for who they were. Gloria enjoyed many things in life—singing, dancing, joking, and spending quality time with all who were so dear to her heart.
On Monday, July 9, 2018, Gloria answered the Master's call to come home. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Jackson; and two brothers, T. W. Grant and Mac Authur Jackson.
She is survived by her siblings, Betty Jackson, Eva J. Parker, Ruby Hammonds, John (Ruth) Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, John (Nora) Jackson, and J. L. Jackson; three grandchildren, Shalonda Jackson, Shakiela Jackson, and Curtis Jackson; great grandchildren, Bailey McKinsey, Kaylee Jackson, Bryson McLunsey, and Kasen Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
