Obituary

Our beloved Matriarch gain her wings on January 6, 2022. God saw fit to remove the head of the chain. Gracie was born on July 28, 1933, in Leesburg, Georgia to Buddy Waters and Essie Covington. She was affectionately raised by her Great Grandparents, Charlie, and Rilla Willis.

Gracie attended school in the Lee County Public School System. She worked many years in the Lee County Middle School cafeteria. Her heart felt passion was working in the area of care taking.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Henry Everett in 1975.

At an early age, she confessed Christ and joined the Wooden Grove Baptist Church in Leesburg, Georgia under the leadership of her late Great Uncle, Reverend Murray Willis. She later moved her membership to the Greater Zion Hope Holiness under the leadership of Apostle Henry L. Holsey where she served faithfully.

Gracie loved to listen to gospel music, attending gospel concerts, and church. She enjoyed fishing. What she enjoyed the most wasspending time with family, especially her grandchildren. "Gracie never met a stranger". If you had time to listen, she had time to talk.

Her philosophy was "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"–Always treat others right. Gracie was an advocate and petition for the pavement of "Cedar Street". Gracie had a stylish way of dressing and loved wearing a beautiful hat to match her dressy outfits.

She was at peace knowing that she had to leave this earthly tabernacle and go to a place not made by the hands of man. She leaves to cherish her memory; 2 sons and 4 daughters. Frank (Gloria) Waters, Clifford (Tammy) Waters of Albany, GA; Barbara Waters of Americus, GA; Carolyn Waters of Albany, GA ; LaVonda Waters of Tallahassee, FL, and Sholanda Waters of Leesburg, GA;5 children preceded her in death Harrie Lee Brown of Leesburg, GA; Charlie (Ida) Daniels of Leesburg GA, Johnny (Dollie) Daniels of Albany, GA ; Rella Waters of Leesburg, GA; Soloman (Lilly) Brown of Albany, GA; 1 brother preceeded her in death Dr. Jimmy (Dorothy) L.
