Gregory McDowell

With great respect and fond remembrance, we announce the passing of Gregory McDowell, who departed this life on July 19, 2026, at the age of 63. Gregory was born on November 23, 1962, marking the beginning of a life devoted to family, friends, and his community.

Gregory’s journey through life was marked by dedication, kindness, and steadfastness. While much of his biography is known privately, the length of his life speaks to resilience and a deep capacity for connection. Those who knew him remember Gregory as someone who approached each day with an open heart and unwavering integrity.

A viewing to honor Gregory’s memory will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Memorial Chapel, located at 1908 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Albany, GA. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Doretha H. Payne Chapel at Martin Luther King Funeral Home, also at 1908 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Albany, GA. Gregory will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, 220 Cotton Avenue, Albany, GA, on the same day.
