Obituary

Gwendolyn Ceasar Mosley was born on September 7, 1948, in Albany, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of Jessie L. Ceasar and B. J. Jordan.

She received her formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County, including Monroe High School where he graduated in 1966. While at Monroe, Gwen was actively involved in numerous school organizations and extracurricular activities.

On April 10, 1971, Gwen married the love of her life, James Edward Mosley. Their union endured through the years and they shared many adventures together in the US and abroad during his military career. In 1983, Gwen and James returned home to Albany to begin another phase of their life of commitment and dedication to each other.

Gwen had the great advantage of growing up in a home in which the Lord was feared and worshipped. At an early age, she professed her faith and belief in Christ and began her Christian walk with the Lord. In later years after returning to Albany, she reunited with Friendship Baptist Church and served faithfully in many ministries, including the Voices, Traveling, and Combined Choirs.

Often described as a conscientious and persistent individual, Gwen was blessed to have had a profound professional career that spanned a period of 32 years. As a pre-school teacher at Friendship Daycare, she was relentless in guiding, inspiring, and nurturing young minds and talents. She had a deep love for children and impacted many lives and families in the community.

In her free time, Gwen enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends and family, cooking, a good black and white Western, playing Tetris and word puzzle books, and spending time with her grandchildren who were the "apples of her eye."

On Friday, November 30, 2018, Gwen's earthly journey ended and she entered into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James.

She leaves to mourn his passing and cherish fond memories her parents, Jessie L. Ceasar of Albany, GA and B. J. Jordan of Hallandale, FL; her children, Gerald (Lamegra) Mosely of Houston Texas and Sheryl (Kym)Mosley of Albany, GA; five grandchildren, Jackson Mosley and Myles Mosley of Houston, TX, and Brenda Cooper, Brendan Cooper, and Breuana Cooper of Albany, GA; six siblings, Cornelia Ann Stroble, Vivian Loretta Edwards, and Billy (Delores) Stroble, all of Albany, GA, Cassandra J. Allen and Stephanie Bowen of Hallandale, FL, and Christopher (Mattie) Stroble of Sumter, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
