Obituary

Hardrick L. Ford, son of the late Shirley Lucas and James Ford, Sr., was born in Albany, Georgia on June 11, 1965.

He was a 1983 graduate of Colonia High School in Colonia, Middlesex County, New Jersey. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States military.

Hardrick met and married the love of his life, Sheila Rambo. They shared a love and a devotion to one another that was unshakeable. He was a committed husband, proud father and grandfather, and a hard working man who cherished his family. For numerous years, he was employed as a construction worker with various contractors in the local area. He also worked with Porter Concrete where he gave his best at everything he did.

Hardrick was never perplexed by a challenge—he knew how to get the job done, no matter what the task.

A true joy to everyone around him, Hardrick was a delightful man with a big heart, selfless with his love, outgoing, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a spirit of sunshine that could be felt by all who encountered him. Often referred to as the life of the party, there was never a dull moment when in his presence. Hardrick had an endless reservoir of love for his family and friends and cherished every moment spent with them. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend whose smile and laughter were contagious.

In his leisure, he enjoyed music, cold sodas, and donning his eye-catching hats.

On March 6, 2024, Hardrick faced the sunset of this earthly life in a tragic car accident. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Jessie J. Lucas, Roosevelt Lucas, and Annette Pride.

Cherished memories will forever remain in with his beloved wife of 40 years, Sheila Rambo Ford; his children, Latoya Rambo and Rico Ford; grandchildren, Juniyah Ramnbo, Joidain Brown, Jala Brown, Journee Brown, Xion Ford, Levi Ford, and Rico Ford, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
