Helen Blocker Anthony was born in Arlington, Georgia, on June 24, 1950. She was the beloved daughter of the late Charlie Frank and Bertha Mae Blocker.
She received her formal education in the Early County School System and graduated in 1968. In later years, she continued her education at Albany Technical College in the field of Culinary Arts after relocating to Albany, Georgia.
Very early in life, Helen began her walk with the Lord at the Arms of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Blakely, Georgia where she served faithfully for many years. At the time of her transition, she was an active member of St. Paul Baptist Church. Throughout her life, she remained steadfast and unmovable in her Christian walk.
She was formerly married to Charlie Anthony and to this union, three children were born. Helen was a devoted mother and grandmother who ate not the bread of idleness. Her diligence in caring for the needs of her family was unwavering. She was a very meticulous, hardworking employee of the Dougherty County School System; always stayed the course to ensure that no task was left undone; and retired after rendering innumerable years of loyal service.
Helen was a source of encouragement and joy to everyone she met; and a friend you could always depend on. The joys of her life were her family and friends. She was an incredible cook and delighted in preparing treats for everyone to enjoy. She will be greatly missed.
On August 30, 2019, Helen transitioned to eternal rest. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two siblings, Calvena and Dominic; four great grandchildren; and her niece, Yalonda.
