Obituary

The season of life for Henry Lee Jackson, Jr. began in Lee County, Georgia on March 26, 1957. He was the son of Willie Mae Jackson and the late Henry Lee Jackson, Sr.

He received his formal education in the Lee County School System, where he was known from his exceptional basketball skills. He pushed himself daily on the court to perfect his skills and develop new ways to dominate the game he loved so much. He often said that Michael Jordan could learn a thing or two from him.

Henry was a very conscientious, career-drive individual who walked to the beat of his own drum and gave his best at whatever he did. He joined the workforce at a very young age working in the fields in Lee County—a work experience that taught him the value of hard work and perseverance. His ambition, drive, and fervor enabled him to join the ranks of employees at D&D Wood Preserving for numerous years. While there, he was lauded as a dedicated, reliable, and committed employee who was passionate about his work. In later years, Henry joined the entertainment field as "The Wild Man" and "Mighty Nitro"; one of the baddest DJs in South Georgia and North Florida. He enjoyed enormous popularity over the years with his very unique way of appealing to his audience.

In addition to his phenomenal talents and abilities, Henry had an infectious sense of humor and exuberant personality that touched anyone he came in contact with. He was a strong man who gave his family a lifetime of beautiful, but tough lessons combined with fun, laughter, hope, discipline, wisdom, and above all else—LOVE!

On Sunday, March 1, 2020, Henry's earthly season took a "final spin" and he transitioned to eternal rest. In addition to his father, he joins daughter, Sakia Latice Jackson; and his siblings, Jacob Jackson, Eugene Jackson, Katherine Jackson, and Martha Ann Jackson in loving peace.

Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of his loving wife, Carolyn Jackson; children, Laurentis (Monique) Jackson, LuCretia Rivers, and Shawanda Williams; mother, Willie Mae Jackson; siblings, Leroy (Catherine) Jackson, Eddie (Maude) Jackson, Roscoe (Shirley) Jackson, Johnny (Stephanie) Jackson, Jewel Gammage, Sarah Jones, Minnie Duckett, Shirlene (Bobby) Fair, Tisha Jackson, and Sabrina Jackson; grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
