IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henry Lee
Scott
June 18, 1940 – August 27, 2023
Henry Lee Scott was born in Mitchel County, Georgia on June 25, 1940, to the late Leon Scott and Annie M. Boyd. He was the eldest of six children.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in Dougherty County School System.
A life-long resident of Albany, Henry was employed by AAA Concrete Company. He was a hard worker and conscientious employee who was admired and highly respected by his coworkers and supervisors. Henry retired in 2015 after 42 years of dedicated service.
On December 24, 1961, Henry married Ossie P. Burton. After diligent study of the Bible, he was baptized as a dedicated servant of Jehovah in 1996. He attended the Five Point Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. He had the hope of living on an earthly paradise (Psalm 37:11, 29)
A mild tempered and quiet servant, Henry unwaveringly practiced what he learned and preached. Along with his Christian ministry, he enjoyed fishing, riding his bike, picking up cans, and gardening.
Henry fell asleep in death on August 27, 2023. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Freddie Wingfield: his stepfather, Jimmy Boyd Sr.; and two siblings, Frances Brown and Jimmy Boyd Jr.
He will be missed by his devoted wife of 62 years, Ossie Burton Scott; his sisters; Willie Mae Boyd, Geneva Smith, and Jeanette Dawson; one sister-in-law, Annie Boyd; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
