Herman Robert Thomas was born in Miami, Florida on October 11, 1958.  He was the beloved son of  Roosevelt Thomas and Marjorie Demerette Pinder.

He received his formal education in the Miami-Dade County Public School System, graduating from North Miami Beach High School.  Throughout school, Herman was a very zealous, considerate, and inquisitive student who gained much from his educational experiences and school activities.

At a very early age, Herman accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior; was baptized; and received the right hand of fellowship into the body of Christ.  Upon relocating to Albany, Georgia in 2017, he united with Israel's Temple Worldwide under the leadership and guidance of Apostle Jimmy L. Gardner.  He dearly loved the Lord and remained steadfast throughout life's journey.

A highly motivated, persistent, and conscientious individual, Herman was a self-starter with a keen eye for detail.  He was a topnotch landscaping specialist who took great pride in the services he provided for many residents of  Miami.  Over the years, he worked diligently to meet the needs of his clients and to ensure that his work was flawless.  After moving to Albany, his passion for landscaping and lawn maintenance intensified; thus, prompting him to continue his lawn and manicure services in area neighborhoods.

Having been totally captivated by Beverlyn Clark in 2017, a courtship ensued which resulted in  Herman being joined in holy matrimony to the love of his life.  They shared an extraordinary life and abiding love that overflowed with joy, laughter, and true devotion to each other.   Herman was an incredible husband and father who was full of compassion, strength, love, and humor.  He believed strongly in family ties, gave of himself freely, stood ready to lend a helping hand, and took special interest in events that brought family and friends together in love and harmony.  He also enjoyed watching television—especially sports.

On April 29 2025, Herman transitioned from this earthly life at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Vernae Gertrude Pinder and Allen Pinder.

Precious memories will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Beverlyn Clark Thomas; his daughter, Kamora Thomas; bonus children, Courtney Clark and Michael (Willsheana) Clark; siblings, Majorie Smith, Celeste (Rickey) Daniels, and Vernae (Chris) Stephens; bonus grandchildren, De'Cameron Clark, De'Caden Eafford, De'Havon Clark, Keshai Clark, Kayla Clark, and Kelsey Clark; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
