IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Homer Jefferson
Shaw
June 5, 1945 – September 1, 2017
Homer Jefferson Shaw was born in Clay County, Georgia on June 5, 1945. He was the son of the late Lorene and Frank Jefferson Shaw.
He attended the public schools of Baker County, including East Baker High School where he participated in various school functions and activities.
While yet a young man, Homer began his professional career at Nut Tree Pecans of Albany. No mater what the task, he took great pride in his work and a "job well done." In later years he was employed as a Product Handler at Cooper Tire Company where he worked untiringly until the plant closed.
Homer had a wonderfully upbeat and cheerful attitude toward life. He could strike up a conversation anywhere he went and made many friends along the way. He was profoundly devoted to his family and cherished the time spent with them. One of the things that Homer enjoyed most in life was cooking. Oftentimes, he was found creating new soulful recipes that his family and friends truly enjoyed.
On Friday, September 1, 2017, he departed this earthly life at the Pruitt Nursing Home.
He is survived by his siblings, Ruby Benefield of Jacksonville, FL, Linda Faye Shaw of Newton, GA, Eddie J. Shaw of Valdosta, GA, Willie Frank Shaw and John (Brenda) Shaw both of Albany, GA, Bobby (Charlene) Shaw of Atlanta, GA, and Billy (Beverly) Shaw of Brooklyn, NY; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
