IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hubert "Kip"
Ross, Sr.
June 19, 1968 – May 18, 2022
Hubert Ross was born in Camilla, Georgia on June 19, 1968. He was the loving son of Rubie Ross and the late Joe L. Ross.
He was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating with honors from Westover High School in 1986. Throughout school, Hubert was an energetic, enthusiastic young man who took advantage of opportunities to learn and grow. Early in life, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and remained a prayerful and humble servant.
As a youth, "Kip" as he was fondly called, developed a passion for barbering. Over the years, he quickly grasped the skills and techniques of the profession and established himself as one of Albany's top master barbers at M. L. King Barber Shop. He was highly respected in his field, detail oriented, passionate about his work, and provided quality customer service. Kip was "down to earth" and a great conversationalist. To many of his clients he was more than a barber, he was a social worker, a mentor, and a true friend.
Family was at the center of Kip's life and he enjoyed every moment spent with them. He was a devoted son and father, a caring brother and uncle, an awesome nephew and cousin, and a loyal friend whose presence will be deeply missed.
On May 18, 2022, Kip quietly departed this earthly life at Flowers Memorial Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his son, Kipp Ross; stepson, Demarcus Wright; three siblings, Valarie Ross, Stephon Ross, and William Ross; and one brother-in-law, J. L. Laster.
He leaves wonderful memories that will forever be cherished by his mother, Rubie Ross of Albany, GA; his children, Hubert Ross, Kendrick Ross, Logan Ross, and Kawayelein Ross all of Albany, GA; a stepson, Jontavious Ford of Albany, GA; six siblings, Linda Laster, Andriana Hutchings, Keith Ross, Sr., Marcus Ross all of Albany, GA , and Joann (Johnny) James and Kelvin (Daisy) Ross both of Macon, GA; three grandchildren; best friend and cousin, Melvin Cater, Jr. of Albany, GA; favorite nephew, Michael Ross of Albany, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
