Mrs. Ida Barber Ross, 74, passed away surrounded by family on December 24, 2023 after complications of trauma from a car accident.

Ida was born October 10, 1949 in Albany, GA to the belated Mr. Etris Lee Barber and Mrs. Sallie Mae Jefferson Barber. She graduated from Monroe High School, class of 1969. She married the love of her life, Mr. Roy Lee Ross, June 10, 1970. They were married 53 and a half years before God called her home.

Ida is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Eugene Barber and her sister, Stephanie Porter.

Ida is survived by her husband, 3 sons: Wilmon (Shirley) Barber of Baltimore, MD; Derrick (Jennifer) Dison of Seville, Spain; Roderick (Brittany) Ross of Albany, GA – and 1 daughter: I'Mari (Shyron) Ross-Shelton of Ridgecrest, CA. Her siblings – Wilbert (Eloise) McRoy, Shirley (Louis) Brown, Letrone Barber, Essie Holliday, Lowanna Barber, Ardell Barber.

Ida had a heart of gold and was loved by many including her grandchildren, great grandchildren, "adopted" sons Benny Sisroe Jr. and Brian Hightower, "adopted" daughters Ladalia Bryant (Dallie Bell) and Shlanda Dawson (Landi), three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews.

She fought a hard fight and is now enjoying the victory of eternal peace.
