Inez Moore Nix Turner, beloved daughter of the late Geneva and Arthur Moore, was born in Baconton, Georgia on November 2, 1944.
She was a life-long resident of Albany, Georgia and was educated in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe High School.
From a very early age, she was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years. In later years, she continued her Christian fellowship at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Blessed with the gift of song, she utilized her talents to praise God while singing in the choir. Inez was a woman of prayer, of faith, and of courage who stood boldly on the Word for the cause of Christ.
Inez was a persistent, hardworking individual who ate not the bread idleness. She skillfully balanced her responsibilities as a mother and homemaker with her employment at Bob's Candies where she retired after rending 28 years of loyal and dedicated service.
Inez was a loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and loyal friend whose heart was filled with love and compassion. Anyone who knew her also knew that she treasured her family and faith above all else. She was the "thread" that held her family together. Inez was a person who felt most content when helping others; accepting everyone for who they were, and welcoming them into her heart and home. She found infinite joy in gardening, vacationing, and family reunions.
On Monday, March 5, 2018, her spirit was released to be forever present with the Lord, after a courageous battle with cancer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Clara Jones, Doris Hendley, and Woodrow Moore.
Loving memories will be cherished by her children, Demessial (Jerry) Brown and Willie B. Nix, Jr.; two siblings, Aurthor (Mary) Moore of Elk Grove, CA and Juanita (David) Reese of Albany, GA; sister-in-law, Estella Moore of Albany, GA; brother-in-law, Eddie Hendley of Macon, GA; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a very dear friend Annie Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
