Irene Butts Williams was born in Worth County, Georgia on January 16, 1958. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Albert Butts Sr. and Mrs. Leodis Bryant Butts.

She received her formal education in the Lee County Public School System.

At an early age, Irene accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Warwick, Georgia.

Irene was very hardworking and a conscientious individual who was in employed with the City of Albany Transit System for many years before retiring.

Loving daughter, devoted mother, committed sister, one of a kind aunt, awesome cousin, and loyal friend. Irene cherished every moment of her life and greeted each day with a smile.

Her love for family and friends was infinite and she looked forward to gatherings that brought them together in love and harmony.

She enjoyed attending church, shopping, doing crossword puzzles and coloring, but most of all she enjoyed being on the go and traveling around the world. Irene will long be remembered as a good-hearted individual with a warm smile, encouraging words and a keen sense of humor.

On January 20, 2024, Irene transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest. Although her departure leaves a void, the memory of her wonderful life will forever remain in our hearts.

Cherished memories of a life well leaved will forever remain with her loving children, Shawn Butts Sr. and LaShonda Henry (Darrell). Grandchildren; Sherri McClendon, JaKambria Jackson, Ted Stephens, Jr. and Shawn Butts Jr. Great-grandchild Ted Stephens III. Bonus grandchildren; Brittney Henry, Logan Henry, Donovan Henry. Siblings; Albert Butts Jr., Ernest Butts (Willa Mae), Charles Butts, James Butts (Melinda), Phyllis Butts Hardy and Stephanie Anderson. Close friends; Catherine Jackson, Phyllis McCray, and Anita Coston and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
