Isis was born November 8, 2000, in Oakland, California to Rhonda Simpson and Odell McVay. At the age of 6, she moved to Albany, Georgia and was raised by her aunt, Trayce McVay and family.
Isis attended public schools in Dougherty County and graduated third in her class from Monroe Comprehensive High School, Class of 2018. She loved being active; she played softball, was a cheerleader, and ran track for Southside Middle School. Throughout her high school years, she continued track and cheer. Isis was well known for being an outstanding athlete in Track and Field. In 2016, she was a semi-finalist in the National Junior Olympics in Sacramento, California for the 400 meter hurdles. In 2018, she earned the title of State Champ in the Triple Jump. Isis was also Cheerleading Captain her senior year of high school. After graduating, Isis enlisted in the United States Air Force and served a short time before returning home to Albany, Georgia due to medical reasons.
At a young age, Isis dedicated her life to Christ and developed a personal relationship with God. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, under the guidance of Reverend Carl H. White, Jr. She sang in the Youth Choir, served on the Media Ministry, and was an Activity Leader for the Tribe of Joseph.
Isis touched the hearts of many with her infectious spirit and charming personality. She had an impressive work ethic and was always known to get the job done. She was a natural born leader, mentor and friend.
Isis departed this earthly life on October 5, 2019. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Rita Bland; aunt, Michelle Hardin; and cousin, Jimmy "Boss" Moore.
Isis leaves to celebrate her life: her mother, Rhonda Simpson; father, Odell McVay; three sisters, Laporsha Brown, Fatema Jackson and Daisy Jackson; four brothers, James Thomas, James Johnson, Jesse Moore and Patrick Jackson; one niece; six nephews, all of Oakland, CA. She also leaves to cherish her wonderful memory, her paternal grandmother, Odessa McVay of Waycross, GA; paternal grandfather, Samuel McVay of Pensacola, FL; devoted aunt and caregiver, Trayce "Auntie" McVay of Albany, GA; cousins Tiffany McVay and Keifer Williams of Atlanta, GA; a special friend, Larry Lovitt; and a host of cousins, family and friends.
