Jackie Armstrong was born in Baxley, Georgia on June 7, 1954.  He was the beloved son of Johnny Armstrong and Rose Lee Bryant.

He grew up in O'Brien, Florida and received his formal education in the  Suwannee County School District.

In later years, Jackie relocated to Albany, Georgia where he resided until his demise.  Early in life, he developed a passion for cooking which led him to his life-long career in food service.  He was a persistent, dedicated employee who held fast to his belief that work is honorable, and labored untiringly to ensure that no task was left undone.

Jackie  embraced opportunities and the chance to experience life with open arms.  He was blessed with a genuinely warm smile and an engaging personality that captured the hearts of all who knew him.   He will be remembered for his compassionate spirt and love for singing.

On March 17, 2019, Jackie departed this earthly life at the Willson Hospice House.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, David Armstrong and Shirley A. Armstrong; aunts, Retha Mae Fields and Katherine Wells; and his grand-daughter, Aulexia Roberts.

He is survived by his former wife, Barbara Armstrong; children, Jackie (Marcellus) Roberts, Shewanna Toson, Sededra Armstrong, Keith Armstrong, and Krystal Armstrong; grandchildren, Brooklyn (Alex) Greene, Eien Toson, Kalis Armstrong, Emerson Toson, Samariya Jackson, Alyssa Tolbert, Emmanuel Toson, Ascher Roberts, Aydien Roberts, and Ola Toson; siblings, Willie C. (Karen) Armstrong, Jerry D. (Beverly) Robinson, Irene Taylor, Victor W. Robinson, and John F. Robinson; aunt, Mae Lee (Clarence) Wells; a very special sister-in-law, Vickie Flowers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
