Jacob Roberts was born March 28, 1943 in Worth County to the late Elmire and Georgia Mae Ford Roberts.
During early years of life, he attended public school in Worth County. He accepted Christ at an early age at Saints of House of Worship and later became a member at Bethesda Baptist Church.
Jacob was affectionately called "Our Daddy" and "Big Boot" by his kids. During his earlier years, while in the CB club, he acquired the name "Super Cool" because he was so smooth.
He was known to many as Mr. Jack of all trades. He was a master at building barbecue grills, an expert of carpentry and a proficient welder. Throughout his career before retiring, he worked at Lilliston Corp, Pippin Pecan, City of Albany and Adams Machinery.
Jacob united in Holy Matrimony with Gussie Mae Roberts. To this union, eight children were born, one daughter and
seven sons.
On Monday, December 25, 2023, Jacob was called home to his eternal resting place. In addition to his parents, Jacob was preceded in death by the following siblings; Johnny Lee Roberts, Annie Lee Roberts, Raymond Roberts, Bobby Roberts, Willie Mae Maxie, Georgia Lee
Johnson, Joe Lewis Roberts, Carolyn Lee Roberts, Barbara Roberts and two sisters who passed as infants.
To cherish his memories, he leaves his loving wife, Gussie Mae Roberts, eight beautiful children; David (Betty) Roberts, Shirley (Joseph) Wilson, Frederick (Angelia) Roberts, Patrick (Santana) Roberts all of Albany, Stanley (LaDonna) Roberts of Loganville, GA, Darrell (Rhonda)
Roberts of Buford, GA, Lamartreal (Greta) Roberts of Colorado Springs and Jamell (De'Andrea) Roberts of Sylvester, GA. Six siblings; Jake Roberts, Ella Mae Brown, Willie Mae McBride and Joan Haggins all of Albany, GA and Louis Santos of San Diego, CA, fifteen grandchildren, special granddaughter-Ka'Rncia Burgess and twenty two great grandchildren, his BFF/great niece, Bailey Brigitt, a very special niece, Deborah Roberts Phillips, also thanks to the nursing home staff of Worth County and a special thanks to Connie Wilson, Sheila Williams, Jackie Adams, Helen Jackson and Daisy Wright and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family
and friends.
