Jacqueline Maria Battle was born in Albany, Georgia on January 12, 1961. She was the beloved daughter of the late Betty Jean Ransom.
She received her early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System. Throughout school, Jacqueline was a lively, energetic student and a ray of sunshine to teachers, fellow classmates, and close friends. Her passion, tenacity, and drive spilled over into adulthood.
Jacqueline had a zest for life in everything that she did. Early in her career, she joined the ranks of employees with the Dougherty County School System's Child Nutrition Program. For numerous years, she took great pride in ensuring that children and staff were provided tasty, nutritious meals. Throughout her employment she never shied away from hard work and always gave her best, no matter what the task. Her gentle spirit, infused with a delightful sense of humor, made her a favorite among co-workers and supervisors.
Loving mother, awesome grandmother, nurturing aunt, committed cousin, and loyal friend, Jackie truly loved her family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who held the key to her heart. She was full of energy, stayed on the move, was well organized, and never missed an opportunity to bond and spend quality time with her family. Jackie B/Ms. Jay, as she was fondly called, was blessed with supreme culinary skills and often prepared extraordinary soulful feasts for family and friends to enjoy. She has left an eternal footprint in the hearts of all who loved her dearly..
On June 9, 2025, Jacqueline transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest and peace. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Michelle Ransom.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by her children, Johnathan Battle, Jennifer Battle (Thomas) Smith, Natalie Battle, and William Frazier, Jr.; her grandchildren, Jontesha Battle, Jordan Battle, Janeeshia Battle, Darrius Battle, Jaderricka Holsey, Shakambra Battle, Brianna Battle, Alona Frazier, and Aubree Kimbrough; numerous great grandchildren; her brother, Reginald (Vinita) Ransom; aunts, Dorothy Wilson and Janice Holsey; uncle, David Smith, a special friend and companion, Milton Stubbs; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
