Obituary

The journey of life for Jacqueline Alisa Jefferson began in Brooklyn, New York on July 31, 1966.   She was the beloved daughter of the late Samuel L Jefferson and Juanita A. Jefferson.

She attended Valisburg High School and was active in numerous school functions and organizations.

Very early in life, she professed her faith and belief in Christ Jesus and began her Christian walk with the Lord.

Jacqueline was a very conscientious individual who gave her best at whatever she did.  Domestic at heart, she was a devoted mother and grandmother who ate not the bread of idleness; rather, she  was a very  meticulous homemaker who took great care in providing for the needs and well-being of her family.

Jamilia, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, lived a life of kindness and compassion.  You could not find a better friend, listener, or confidant.  Throughout  her life, she unselfishly gave of herself to help others.  Her home was a revolving door for friends, family, and anyone in need.  Jamilia's love never wavered and her beautiful smile, heart-warming laugh, and jovial personality were all contagious.  She was  a strong but humble lady who set so many examples, taught us so much, and always had time for family and friends.  One of her greatest qualities was her ability encourage everyone to make the best of everything.  She believed wholeheartedly that there was no obstacle that could not be overcome.  Her kind, gentle spirit will always have a very special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved her dearly.

On Wednesday, August 21, 2019, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend was called home to eternal rest.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Delicia Jefferson.

Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of her friend and companion, Elijah Best; her children, Tyree Jefferson and Qaasim Bass-Ali of Newark, NJ, Yasmin Bass-Ali of Atlanta, GA, and Najah Bass-Ali and Mariah Brown of Albany, GA; siblings, Charlotte Jefferson, Samuel L. Jefferson, and Tyheed Jefferson; grandchildren, Samiyah Bass-Ali and ZaRiah Brown; nephews and nieces, Alif Jefferson, Jihad Costen, Carnell Jefferson, Marquis Williams, Nakiya Glenn, Taniyah Tarver, and Kamiyah Heart; great niece, Skyler Burns; her best friend whom she loved dearly, Meshia Parker; and a host of cousins, extended family, and other friends.
