A Time to Be Born: Ecclesiastes 3:2
Deacon James William Staton, Jr. was born in Albany, Georgia, on September 17, 1952, to the late Annie Ruth Kendrick Staton and James
William Staton, Sr.


A Time to Serve: Revelation 14:7
James was educated in the Dougherty County School System and graduated with the Class of 1970 from The Monroe Comprehensive High
School. He was affectionately known as "Bolly Ball" by those who knew and loved him. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. In the later years of his life, James became a faithful member and dedicated Deacon of Greater United Pleasant Green Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Andrew McDowell, where he served faithfully until his passing.


A Time to Die: Ecclesiastes 3:2
On August 10, 2025, God called His soldier home to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Walter Kendrick, Sr., William K. Davis, and Debra Staton.


A Time to Mourn: Ecclesiastes 3:4
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving son, Rodney M. Sauls, Sr. (Nadia) of Covington, GA; his devoted daughter, Deidre Lowery of Albany, GA; and his loving grandson, Cabenne Lowery, to whom he was a dedicated guardian until his passing. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Tierra Sauls, Markquece Lowery, DaNia Mapp, Rodney M. Sauls, Jr., DaNetia Mapp, Unecia Hillsman, Trinity Sauls, and Sanaa Sauls.

Cherishing his memory as well are his siblings: Dorothy Hendry of Albany, GA; Annie Kate Johnson (Charles) of Albany, GA; Ronald Gene
Staton (Stephanie) of Albany, GA; and his bonus sister, Juanita Ellis of Albany, GA. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and sovereign friends who will miss him dearly.
