The season of life for James Toomer began in Albany, Georgia on March 25, 1956.  He was the loving son of the late Bernice Jordan Toomer and Albert Toomer, Sr.

A lifetime resident of Albany, James received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System.  Throughout  his school years, he was a lively, energetic student who was always ready for adventure.

For numerous years, James worked untiringly at Mann Moving and Storage.  In later years, he relied on his hands-on skills to provide services for various Merritt Street and Wheeler Avenue families, and Maryland Fried Chicken.  He was dedicated to pleasing people with his work and always gave his BEST no matter what the task.

James had an easygoing, laid-back, one-of-a-kind personality and an amusing sense of humor.  Anyone who knew him would agree that he was extremely straight-forward, unpretentious, and strong-willed; but he was also a good guy who had a big heart for all things.   His love for family and friends was endless; he cherished each moment spent with them; he was never short on a joke or perfectly timed comedy; and there was never a dull moment when he was around.  The bonds of friendship that he developed throughout his life will forever be remembered and cherished.

On March 25, 2022 having celebrated his 66th birthday, James faced the tragic sunset of his earthly season of life.  His untimely departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who loved him dearly.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Johnnie Mae Toomer, Jessie Toomer, Roosevelt Toomer, and Albert Toomer, Jr.

Loving memories will forever remain with his son, James Williams; goddaughter, Diandra Marshall who was raised as his own; siblings, Willie Mae Hunt, Linda Wingfield, Bernice Toomer, Catherine (Anthony) Isaac, Reese Toomer, and Clarence Toomer all of Albany, GA; a very special friend, Elaine Marshall of Panama City, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
