IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James
Walker
November 17, 1936 – June 30, 2019
James Walker, beloved son of the late Lillie Mae Calhoun and J. C. "Budd" Walker, was born in Albany, Georgia on November 17, 1936. He was reared and loved affectionately by his late uncle, Henry Jones and his aunt, Alice Jones from the age of two weeks.
He received his formal education in the schools of Albany, Dougherty County, Georgia and Havana, Florida.
In 2019, he professed his faith and belief in Christ Jesus, and attended church in Albany.
James was an incredibly skilled carpenter whose craftmanship was put to task in the construction industry for innumerable years. His expertise and professional ethics were second to none and he worked tirelessly to ensure that no task was left undone.
"Woo Cat" as he was known by family and many friends near and far, had a love for travel, and spend most of his adult life in Chicago, Illinois. He was a very outgoing person who garnered much from his life experiences, took advantage of every opportunity to spend time with his family and friends, and enjoyed savoring the beauty of nature and life. The strong bonds of friendship that he developed throughout his life will long be remembered and cherished.
On June 30, 2019, God called our beloved brother to a sweet place of rest. In addition to his parents and uncle, he was preceded in death by his son, James "Chess" Walker, Jr.; and four brothers, Johnny "Don" Jones, Joseph Walker, Bennie Walker, and Willie James Walker.
He leaves fond memories to be cherished by his mother/aunt, Alice Jones; his children, Glen (Stacy) Walker, James "Tripp" Rice, Cornelia Grier, and Nicole Greer of Chicago, IL, and Jarrett Walker of Florida; a very special friend, Angela Gaines of Camilla, GA; four brothers, R.
