Obituary

James R. "Bo" Williams, beloved son of the late L. C. and Ethel Lee Carter Williams, was born in Baker County, Georgia on January 30, 1945. He was the youngest of three children who were reared by strong loving parents and grandparents (the late Lucy and Luke Carter).

He was educated in the public schools of Dougherty County, including Monroe High School where he graduated as an honor student in the class of 1963. He continued his education at Albany Junior College and Albany State College. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1968 and received an honorable discharge at the close of his tour of duty.

In March 1958, James "Bo" was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses symbolizing his dedication to Jehovah God. For many years, he was a zealous, faithful and joyful servant, ministerial servant, and an elder in the congregation. He devoted countless hours assisting friends and family in learning about Jehovah God and the wonderful purpose to restore the earth to a paradise and eternal life for obedient mankind. "Bo" was a kind and hospitable man who was passionate about helping others. One of the precious highlights of his life was that of aiding the elderly in whatever means possible—especially ensuring that they were able to attend the Christian meetings.

James was married to Patricia Whitaker for 16 years and they were the parents of James Dexter and Tracee. While enjoying a Christian gathering in 1985, he met Juanita McDowell. They were united in marriage on January 10, 1987, and to this union one son, Lyncoln, was born. He was also the loving father of Latricia, Nakesha, and Robert. James was a devoted husband, son, brother, father, in-law, uncle, neighbor, employer, and friend.

A "natural born salesman," Bo was employed as a buyer/salesman for numerous years at Davis Red Men's Shop where he earned the name "Red Hanger Bo". He also worked at Merck Chemical Company for a short period of time. In 1978, he was appointed Sales Agent for Nationwide Insurance Company. For the pat 39 years, he was owner and operator of James "Bo" Williams Insurance Agency serving the Albany community and surrounding counties. He was widely known as a man of unquestionable professionalism, integrity, and dedication; and for providing superior service to the company and his clients. Throughout his career, he received many honors, recognitions and accolades for his loyal service, work ethics, unfailing commitment , and impeccable standards. He was highly respected by the Company and his fellow Agents.

In his leisure time, James enjoyed a variety of games and sports, both as a spectator and participant; and he was especially fond of golf.

The close of life's earthly journey for James leaves a void in the hearts of family and friends. He had a good heart—that's how he will be remembered. In addition to his parents and grandparents, one loving son, James Dexter Williams, preceded him in death in 2016.

James is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 30 years, Juanita McDowell Williams; five children, Lyncoln Williams, Robert Doctri, and Nakesha Williams of Albany, GA, Latricia F.
