As she sprouted and grew, she attended the public schools of Dougherty County where she actively participated in various school organizations and activities.
A Time to Serve:
Throughout her childhood, Janet was nurtured in the word of God. As a youth, she began her fellowship with Christ at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend W. H. Holloway. She later united with the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she continued her journey with the Lord until her demise.

Janet was a keen, persistent, and hardworking individual who was very passionate about her work and ate not the bread of idleness. Through the years, she taught her children the value of hard work as she labored tirelessly in the Dougherty County School System's Food Service Division as a Dietitian. She retired after 32 years of loyal and dedicated service.
A Time to Embrace:
"Annette" as she was affectionately called, was a very kind and gentle-hearted person who embraced life's experiences with open arms. She was a very meticulous mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who loved unconditionally and taught her family to persevere and stick together through the trials and triumphs of life. She was a simplistic person with a heart of gold and a friend to all that she met. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, singing. And welcoming everyone into her heart and her home.
A Time to Rest:
On January 22, 2018, Annette departed her earthly vessel and returned back to her Heavenly Father. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings and three grandchildren.
