JANICE LORRAINE EDWARDS was born on July 15, 1954, in Baconton, Georgia, to James Ellis Sr. and Mildred Dolores Ellis. A proud graduate of Monroe Comprehensive High School, Janice was known and loved as the life of every gathering.

As the consummate hostess, her home was a haven for good food, warm laughter, and joyous memories. Family and friends gravitated toward her warmth, generosity, and unmatched culinary skills. Her talent in the kitchen earned her the role of head chef for several high-profile clients, where her culinary artistry ranged from savory soul food to exquisite European cuisine.

Beyond the kitchen, Janice brought beauty and flair to interior spaces, revitalizing furnishings and homes with a designer's eye and a generous heart. Her passion for beauty extended to her beloved garden, a testament to her care, creativity, and nurturing spirit.

But above all her accomplishments, Janice's greatest pride and joy was her family. She spoke of them with boundless love and devotion, and her legacy lives on in their lives. Janice will be remembered as a kind-hearted, vibrant, and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend whose presence brought comfort, joy, and inspiration to everyone she met.

Janice passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, in Palm Bay, Florida. She was 70 years old. Janice was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James Ellis Sr. and Mildred Ellis; her husband, John Glenwood Edwards; and her cherished brothers: James Ellis Jr., Roderic Ellis (LaShonda), and Carlton Ellis.

She leaves behind a loving legacy through her children: Yoseuf Ellis, Yardia Spencer (Basil), Yuel Barney, and Yulantae Barney; and her grandchildren: Xinarya Byrd, Gregory Byrd Jr., and Savannah Ellis. She is also survived by her siblings: Charles Ellis (Marian), Tanya Williams, Keisha Johnson, and Travis Crawford. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
