Janie Pearl Love Diedell, a beloved soul from Albany, Georgia, was born on December 19, 1942, to the late A.K. and Corine (Mathis) Love. She peacefully transitioned on September 19, 2024, at Wynfield Nursing Home, surrounded in the warmth and care of its devoted staff.

Janie's journey was marked by her passion for education and community service. After graduating from Monroe Comprehensive High School, she dedicated her early career to nurturing young minds as a kindergarten teacher in Newark, New Jersey. Her boundless energy, leadership capabilities, and spirit led her to a successful career in hospitality, where she thrived as a 5-Star hotel manager in Atlanta, Georgia, and later as a janitorial supervisor at Sunny Lane Farms in Albany.

An avid reader and a committed volunteer, Janie touched many lives through her work with Habitat for Humanity, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. She found solace and strength in her faith as a devoted member of Victory Tabernacle Church, where her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on her church family.

Janie is now reunited with her beloved brother Sylvester Love and sisters, Betty Turner, Katie Blackshear, Gloria Pounds, and Linda Love. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Connie Hooper (Albany, GA), a very special niece, Wendy Love (Atlanta, GA), whom she raised as her own child, and a very special great niece, Nicole Love (Albany, GA), whom she raised as her granddaughter.  Janie also leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.

Janie Pearl will be deeply missed but will forever be remembered for her generous spirit, unwavering kindness, and the love she shared with everyone she met. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched and the love she spread throughout her community.
