IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jasmine Xavier
Boyd
May 27, 1954 – June 13, 2020
Jasmine Xavier Boyd was born May 27, 1954, in Albany, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Latha Glover and Norris Styles.
She was education in the Dougherty County School System and was actively involved in numerous school organizations and activities.
Very early in life, Jasmine accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church. As she continued her Christian walk, she united with the Greater Second Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lorenzo L. Heard. Jasmine loved to sing and she lifted her voice in praise as a member of the music ministry. Her love for her church was evident because she willingly worked wherever needed and she remained steadfast throughout her journey.
Jasmine loved her profession as a cosmetologist and worked tirelessly for more than 30 years to make her clients look and feel their best. Her out-going personality and passion for the trade significantly impacted her clients and led to her success in the industry.
"Cookie," as she was affectionately called, was a good-hearted individual with an endless reservoir of love for her children and grandchildren. She had a spirit of sunshine, humor, and laughter that could be felt by everyone around her. Often described as an energetic, strong-willed individual, Cookie was the kind of person that anyone would be proud to call daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, or friend. She enjoyed traveling and engaging family and friends in endless hours of conversation. We all are beneficiaries because her enthusiasm and exuberance were contagious and memorable.
On June 13, 2020, Jasmine departed this earthly life at Phoebe Putney Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Otis Charles Boyd, Jr.; and three sisters, Isabella Styles, Christina Williams, and Deborah Styles.
Loving memories will be forever cherished by her children, Michelle (James) Blu and Spencer Boyd; grandson, Stacy Boyd; great grandchildren, Ashantis Boyd, Jordan Boyd, Kaitlyn Boyd, and Amir Boyd; goddaughter, Keosha Styles; siblings, Sharon O'Banyoun, Yolonda (David) Bailey, Elizabeth (Alex) Thomas, Norine (Gary) Dublin, Tracy Styles, Juanita (Melvin) Ingram, Malcolm (Gloria) Hall, Sr., and Michael Styles; aunts, Ceola Sims and Grace Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
