Obituary

Jason Parker, son of Florida Williams and the late Jacob Howard Parker, was born in Albany, Georgia on October 22, 1970. Throughout his childhood, he was nurtured and cared for by his mother and loving stepfather, Russell Williams.

During the early years of his life, Jason attended the public schools of Dougherty County, including River Road Elementary School/M. L. King Elementary and Lincoln Heights Elementary. His family later moved to Augsburg, West Germany and he continued his education at Augsburg Elementary School and Augsburg High School, graduating in the Class of 1989. While at Augsburg High, he was an outstanding football and soccer player.

Upon the profession of his faith and belief in Jesus Christ, Jason united with the Augsburg Pentecostal Church in Augsburg, Germany. He loved praising the Lord and had a "special ear" for his two favorite songs— Everything Is Going To Be Alright and Near The Cross.

After receiving the "call for military service," Jason enlisted in the United States Army where he served courageously as an Expert Marksman. He received numerous commendations for his skill and valor. At the completion of his tours of duty, he received an honorable discharge and returned to civilian life to further his career. For numerous years, he was employed as a supply specialist with the US Department of Defense, and a PCA with the State of Alaska where he resided for 28 years.

Jason wore many hats in his lifetime. He was an incredible son, brother, uncle, cousin, and most importantly, father. He loved his family and would do anything in his power to help them. He was a selfless person who was devoted to his family and friends, willingly helped other, and touched the lives of people around him in a very special way. In his free time, he enjoyed soccer and football.

On Tuesday, May 16, 2017, Jason departed this earthly life in Wasilla, Alaska, and entered into eternal rest.

He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish fond memories, his loving mother, Florida M. Williams; his son, Benjamin Allen Bell; siblings, Gable Parker, Sophia Williams, Bernard Parker, and numerous other sisters and brothers; a special nephew, Kenneth Patrick, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Although your heart may be broken,
There's no need to weep for me.
I'm in a wonderful place now,
Where I'm happy and so carefree.
Don't shed a tear, but smile instead,
My death is not the end.
I'm still living—just on a higher plan,
With Jesus, my dearest friend.
