Obituary

Jerome McRae was born on October 29, 1955 in Belle Glade, FL to the late Clyde McRae and Altamese Arnold. His academic career began in the Palm Beach County School System at Lakeshore Elementary. After relocation in his adolescent years, he would go on to graduate high school from Eastside High in Newark, NJ. Jerome received post-secondary education at Morristown College in Morristown, TN.

Mr. McRae was a member of the New Dimension Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor Clayton D. Smith. He found not only the love of Christ but the love for his own bride. Jerome McRae was joined in holy matrimony to Brenda Davis on June 12, 1999. Together, they were led of God to follow Bishop J. Nathan Paige in founding the Victorious Life Church of Albany, GA in 2005.  In November of 2010, Jerome McRae was ordained a deacon in the Lord's church.

Jerome was a hardworking individual who gave his all to whatever he did. For more than 40 years, he labored tirelessly as a business owner and private contractor for Go McRae, LLC. He worked with many corporations including but not limited to Wallace Electric, Hartsfield Electric, Boruff Electric, Windamir Co, Wireglass Electric, Atlantic Workforce, Allstate and Aerotex.

Beyond the church walls and buildings of corporate America, Deacon McRae was a die-hard football fan of the Oakland Raiders. It mattered not if that won or loss, that was his team.  On Sunday, March 17, 2024, in the sovereign providence of God, Deacon Jerome McRae was ushered to a different cheering section.  Joining a great cloud of witnesses, he transitioned to his eternal rest. Deacon McRae was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and brother-in-law, Robert Rogers.

Memories will forever be held by his loving and devoted wife, Brenda McRae. His legacy will live on in his children Tamica (Leondrae) Camel, Sonya (Adolphus) Barnes, Jada McRae, Robert Jones, and Tamisha Jones; Grandchildren Lyric, Jasmine, Adonis, Landen, Jaylyn, Tamya, Tristan, Tamashia, Jr. and Adrianna. He will be cherished by his siblings Freddie Spear, James Joseph, Mark Joseph, Edward Alexander, and Ronnie (Jennifer) Arnold. He also leaves to mourn his mother and father in-law, Eugene and Fannie Pittman, sisters-in-law, Ollie Loud and Latonya Frazier Maples and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
