Jerry Dean Gordon was born in Albany, Georgia on March 16, 1968.  She was the daughter of Henrietta Tift Gordon and the late Johnny Gordon.

She received her early childhood and secondary education in the public schools of Dougherty County, including Dougherty Comprehensive High School.  Her intense energy and exuberant personality made her a favorite among peers, teachers, and close friends.

At an early age, Jerry Dean knew she wanted to be a hairstylist.  After realizing her true "gift" and passion for braiding, she practiced relentlessly to master the techniques and skills that led to a 25-year career as a braids stylist.  A "Jerry Dean's" style transcended the ordinary—it was boundless, recognizable, distinctive, and unique.  She took the whole person into account when styling and upon leaving her chair, clients always looked their best.  The word ORIGINAL absolutely defined who she was!

Jerry Dean was a beautiful, free-spirited individual who embraced life with open arms.  When in her presence, there was never a dull moment.  She noticed the beauty in all things, the good in everyone, and no one was ever considered a stranger.  Jerry Dean had a glowing personality that would lift your spirits and brighten your day.  Her passion for cooking could be felt by everyone around her and she often prepared mouth-watering, succulent meals for family and friends to enjoy.  To know her was to dearly love her!

On Monday, November 20, 2023, Jerry Dean transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace and rest.  She was a bright flame that will be missed so deeply by so many.

Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of her children, Shekema Gordon, Reginald Gordon, Donterriuos Gordon, Contessa (Dantoine, Sr.) Washington, and Terevla Gordon; her mother, Henrietta Tift Gordon; siblings, Gloria Gordon, Jerry Lee Gordon, Billy Gordon, Stanley Gordon, and Sabrina Gordon; fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
