Jerry Lunsford, son of Mattie Lunsford and the late John Lunsford, was born in Albany, Georgia on October 24, 1969.

He attended the public schools of Dougherty County, graduating from Monroe Comprehensive High School in 1989.  While at Monroe, he was active in numerous school events and activities.

At a very early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Jerry was a very accomplished individual who gave his very best at everything he did.  He was an exceptionally  genuine, salt-of-the earth, blue collar kind of man—he could get dirty at work; but also could look extraordinary in a suit.  He was a very skilled and talented brick mason and utilized his skills through his employment with Mac Arthur Masonry for 14 years.  He later joined the rank of employees at Cagle's Chicken where he retired after 9 years of service.

Baby Boy and Lump , as he was affectionately called by friends and family, possessed the unique ability to draw people toward him and once he had them close, he held them there forever.  His broad shoulders matched his big heart and he put a lot of effort into making others happy.  His quick wit, hearty laugh and easy smile, and his willingness to help others made him a very special man.

On Thursday, November 16, 2017, Jerry departed this earthly life surrounded by his sons and brothers.  He will be remembered with fondness and missed by so many friends and family.

He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate loving memories his devoted mother, Mattie Lunsford of Albany, GA; his beloved children, Shamiski Wingfield of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Courtavious Wingfield, Sr., Da'Shon White, and Tavis Stokes of Albany, GA; four grandchildren, Sebastian Wingfield, Serena Cobey, Courtavious Wingfield, Jr., and Brenton Crawford all of Albany, GA; three siblings, Willie Frank (Yvonne) Jackson, Sr., Annie Freeman, and Daniel Jackson of Albany, GA; one aunt, Lu Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
