Jurence Porter was born in Albany, GA July 8, 1956. He was the loving son of the late Grace Porter Brownlee and Roosevelt Greene.

Growing up in Albany, Jurence received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe High School. Throughout school, he was an adventurous young man with a zeal for new experiences and was actively involved in numerous school functions and activities.

Early in life, he professed his faith and belief in Christ Jesus. He was a devoted member of Greater Second Mt. Olive Faith Center and served as a Vision Leader.

He was a talented salesperson and a diligent worker for U -Save -It drug store for many years. "Ju" as he was affectionately called was a devoted husband and loving father. He was a well -known community leader and no matter what challenges faced him, he was always positive, proactive, hardworking and pursued opportunities with vigor and determination. If you knew him, fashion was his statement and he understood the assignment. He was the life of the party and there was never a dull moment.

On Thursday July 21, 2022 Jurence quietly answered the Master 's call and peacefully entered into eternal rest. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Jurisma Porter, grandmother, Johnnie McClendon and brothers; Alonzo Porter and Jackie Taylor.

Precious memories will forever be cherished by his wife, Beverly Porter, daughters; Leshana Gilbert, Tidisha Gilbert, grandchildren; Ja 'monzea Burks, Jalandon Burks and Kennedi Gilbert, his sisters, Renee Bailey (his twin), Tanya McClendon, Valerie Roberts, Semora Johns, Michelle Brownlee, Debra Price (Joe), brother, Lamontra Johns (Angela), bonus son Rodrick Watkins and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Also, two life long friends; Hollis Clark and Willie Spent.
