Jewel Proctor was born in Albany, Georgia on December 24, 1947. She was the third of ten sisters and brothers born to the late Steve and Jewel Williams.

She was educated in the Dougherty County School System where she participated in various school functions and activities. Very early in life, she professed her faith and belief in Christ. She later united with the Church of the Living Word.

Jewel was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who loved all and enjoyed the basics of life. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed sewing, upholstery projects, and planting flowers. She had a deep passion for fishing which was her prescription for relaxing, gathering her thoughts, and communing with the Lord. Jewel delighted in spending time with her family and engaging in meaningful conversations with her friends. She was very kind hearted and helpful and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

After having lived a wonderful life, Jewel passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Robert Proctor; and six siblings, Sophia, Frank, John, Willie B., Robert, and Steve.

She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her wonderful memories a loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Jessie Rollins; five children, Teresa, Doretha, Patricia Jessie, and Jennifer (Sidney); 18 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, including Dwarttis D. Procter, Porchea Jackson, Latricia Jackson, Shakeita Jackson, and J'Naya Procter who were the "apples of her eye"; three sisters, Sarah Murray of St. Louis, MO, and Betty Rowe and Florence Williams of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
