Mr. Jimmie Lee Jenkins Sr was born on February 18, 1939, in Worth County to the late Sam and Annie Liza Washington Jenkins. He later moved to Albany.

While running his own business, "Jimmie's Place" on Jackson St., he also took great care of his mother (affectionately called "MaMa") and children.  Jimmie worked at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Albany for 32 years as Sexton, while also working his lawncare business until he retired.

He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church until he joined Third Kiokee Baptist Church after marrying Vickie SJ Jenkins on March 5, 1977. They were married 45 years until her untimely death in April 2022.  Together they raised eight children. He loved horticulture, keeping his cars clean, weekly trips to the flea markets, visiting family, and being a sharp dresser.

Jimmie gained his wings on January 11, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He will forever be in our thoughts and hearts. He was preceded in death by his loving, devoted wife, Vickie SJ Jenkins; two brothers, Mr. RJ Jenkins and Mr. Reese Jenkins; and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Cato Jones and Mrs. Ruby Green.

He is survived by his brother, Mr. Sherman Cato, Sr. of Albany, GA; eight children, Alex (Norma) Johnson of Warner Robins, GA, CJ Johnson, Karen (Lynwood) Hanks, both of Albany, GA, Jocelyn (Alvin) Moment of Pelham, GA, Jimmy Jenkins, Jr. and Monica Barber both of Albany, GA, Michiko Johnson of Stockbridge, GA and Yolanda Jenkins of Albany, GA; 23 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren, ten sisters-in law, Cherry (Reese) of Atlanta, GA, Betty (RJ), Sandra, Brenda (Edwin), Beverly, Judy (Carl), Helen, Carolyn, Avier and Panviki (Patrick), all of Albany, GA; four brothers-in-law, Danny (Nettie) and Kenneth both of Alban, GA,  and Vance (Shirley) & Tavio (Toddi) both of Metro Atlanta, GA.  He will always be remembered and missed by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
