Obituary

Jimmy Lee Jones, III was born in Albany, Georgia on January 10, 1962. He was the beloved son of the late Jimmy Lee Jones, Jr. and Troucy Lee Jones.

He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe High School. While at Monroe, he participated in numerous school organizations and activities.

At a very early age, Jimmy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. His journey with Christ finally guided him to New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully as an usher. He was a devoted servant of the Lord and his faith never faltered. Even when challenged with sickness, Jimmy remained steadfast, always giving God the glory and praise.

Jimmy was a very conscientious, hardworking individual who gave his best at whatever he did. For more than 24 years, he labored untiringly at Busbee Floor Finishing Company. Throughout his career, he took great care in doing things right the first time—even if it took a little longer. Not only did he take pride in his work, but he truly relished the friends that he made during his employment. After years of dedicated service, he retired because of declining health.

"June" as he was affectionately called, had an endless reservoir of love for family and friends, and he truly enjoyed spending time with them. He was known for his witty, jovial nature and humor was one of his greatest gifts. He was a loving father and grandfather, a caring brother, a nurturing uncle, a cherished cousin, and an unforgettable friend. Oftentimes, he could be found enjoying the beauty of nature, listening to music, and dancing. He will be missed by all who dearly loved him.

On Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Jimmy gave up this mortal body to put on immortality.

Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of his daughters, Brittany Jones of Reno, NV, and Jaleesa Jones and Rekeeta Jones of Albany, GA; siblings, Inetha Jones, Linda Jones, General Effen (Giovanna) Jones, Johnny Jones, and Anthony Jones all of Albany, GA; uncles, Ulysees Harold and John Anthony Bell of Albany, GA; aunt, Bridgette Harris; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
