Obituary

Jimmy Lee Jones, Jr. was born in Albany, Georgia on February 5, 1950.  He was the loving son of Jimmy Lee Jones, Sr. and Johnnie Mae Jones.

He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System where he participated in numerous schools functions and activities.

Jimmy was an incredibly skilled carpenter whose craftmanship was put to task daily through his employment with Jamison Bedding Company for innumerable years.  His expertise, workmanship, and professional ethics were second to none and he worked tirelessly to ensure that no task was left undone.  Over the years, he held fast to his belief that work is honorable.  He retired after rendering many years of loyal and dedicated service.

On June 21, 2013, Jimmy married his long-time friend and love of his life, Earlene Toson. They shared a love that knew no boundaries and a devotion to one another that grew strong with time.  He was a committed husband, a proud father, a caring brother, a dutiful uncle, a trusted cousin, and a compassionate friend who took special interest in events that brought family and friends together in love and harmony.  His quick wit and encouraging smile made him a favorite among all who came in contact with him.  He will be deeply missed.

The journey of life for Jimmy ended on May 4, 2019, as he answered the Master's call to eternal rest.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Louise Cook and Mary Lois Clark.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, Earlene Jones; children, Octavia J. (Shekila) Jones, Sr., Ashley (Ashley) Jones, Norkietha Jones, and Lakisa Ford; stepchildren, Shewana Toson, Kenneth Ford, Jr., and Latoya Ford; siblings, Mary Lee Dollison, Jimmy D.
