IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jimmy Lee,
Jr.
September 28, 1976 – January 28, 2025
Jimmy Lee, Jr., beloved son of Eva and Jimmy Lee, Sr., was born in Albany, Georgia on September 28, 1976.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Albany High School in 1996. Throughout school, Jimmy was a lively, energetic young man who loved sports and was always ready for adventure. His physical talent and natural ability could be seen from the moment he picked up a football or walked onto the field. While at Albany High, he pushed himself daily to perfect his skills; thus, becoming a fierce "Indian" varsity football player. Jimmy was proud to be an Indian and remained committed to his alma mater through the years.
From a very early age, Jimmy was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, he professed his faith and belief in Christ Jesus; was baptized; and began his journey of Christian stewardship at Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership and guidance of the late Reverend E J Menefee. Over the years, he served faithfully in various capacities and ministries, including the #3 Ushers, Male Chorus, Laymen Department, and Assistant Sunday School Superintendent. As his love for God and the church strengthened, he was ordained as the youngest Deacon at Jordan Grove by Reverend R. O. Calhoun. Deacon Lee was steadfast and unmovable his calling—always giving God the glory and praise.
Having been blessed with the gift of song at a young age, Jimmy also had a yearning desire to play the piano and drums. Under the tutelage of the late Deacon Anthony Miller, his musical talents developed immensely and enabled him to serve as musician for various churches throughout Southwest Georgia. As his love for singing continued to escalate during his seasoned years, Jimmy organized the quartet group, "All Four One Gospel Sensations of Albany," and utilized his uniquely rich voice to minister in song. Yes, his singing was intense, his message was powerful, and he gave his all to the Glory of God!
Deacon Lee was a highly skilled individual whose professional career in the construction trades proved to be one of his greatest accomplishments. Sheetrock Finishing was his passion and he took great pride in the services he provided. Employed by Eddie Wilson Construction from his early years in high school, Jimmy was an enthusiastic employee who never shied away from a challenge and pursued opportunities with vigor and determination. Whether hanging and finishing sheetrock in a home or a commercial property, he thought outside of the box and worked untiringly to ensure customer satisfaction and that his work was flawless.
Devoted son, unfailing father, awesome brother, caring uncle, loving nephew, committed cousin, and loyal friend, Jimmy embraced life with open arms. He believed deeply in unconditional love, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and delighted in helping and caring for others. His friendliness and kindness to all people, and his devotion and love for his family and friends are lasting tributes to the beauty of his heart and soul. He has left footprints that will forever be embedded in our hearts.
On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, Almighty God called his faithful servant home to eternal peace and rest.
