Marriage Story: Growing up as childhood friends, Marvin and JoAnne officially started dating in 1960. After JoAnne graduated from Monroe High School in 1963, she married the love of her life, Marvin on June 16, 1963. They shared a constant growing love for 56 years. Marvin loved his "Jo Louise", as he affectionately called her. During their marriage, they were blessed with four wonderful children (three daugh-ters and one son). JoAnne was a devoted mother and wife who tirelessly supported her husband and children to the very end.
A Time to Serve: JoAnne was a committed and dedicated servant of Jehovah. She dedicated her life to Jehovah in 1959. JoAnne preached the good news faithfully and helped many learn about Jehovah and become his servants. Her life was dedicated to telling all those that would listen about the New World and the things her Great God Jehovah had to offer. No one was excluded from her telling them of the good news—family, friends, and strangers alike. She wanted everyone to know about the faith she held near and dear to her heart.
A Time of Hard Work: JoAnne "Mama Jo" had a heart of gold and it showed by the love and compassion she gave to others. Not only was she a fantastic homemaker, but she spread her love throughout the com-munity. JoAnne taught countless children as a substitute teacher. She worked faithfully for Citizen and Southern Bank (C&S) and Proctor and Gamble (P&G). She was also the Office Manager for her late brother, James "Bo" Williams, at Nationwide Insurance for over 10 years.
A Time of Peace: Loving memories will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted husband, Marvin L. Jones; four loving children, Marvietta LaTrece (Michael) McKnight (Atlanta, GA), Debra Lorraine Jones (Chicago, IL), Jan Dionne (Michael) Smith (Atlanta, GA) and Jeromy Dytjuan (Esoterica) Jones (Albany, GA); twelve loving grand-children, James E. Green III, Michael A. McKnight Jr., Marcus L. Bloxton, Jazmine D. Jenkings, Sequoria D. Thomas, Craig B. Thomas, Aniyah J. Jones, Christopher D. Jones, Kelsie L. Jones, Essence G. Jones, Kamille L. Jones, and Olivia J. Jones; devoted sister-in-law, Juanita Williams (Albany, GA); long-time neighbor, friend and family members, Andrew and Cora Jackson; close and dearest friends, Lorraine Greene, Eve Marie Wright and Eddie Mae Young; diligent caregiver, Monique Marshall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and classmates from all over, who loved her dearly.
