Obituary

The season of life for John Wesley Daniel began in Tifton, Georgia on October 20, 1947. He was the son of the late Cary J. Daniel, Sr. and Essie Bell Daniel.

He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Tift County School System, graduating from Tift County High School in 1975. Throughout school, John was a thoughtful, contemplative young man with wisdom well beyond his years and demonstrated care in all that he did.

Ready to serve his country shortly after high school, John enlisted in the United States Army and served with distinction. During his enlistment, he was assigned to posts throughout the US and abroad. At the close of his tour of duty, he was honorably discharged and returned to civilian. In 1992, he relocated to Albany, Georgia where he resided until his demise.

John was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life and his soulmate, Victoria Lawrence. They shared an extraordinary journey that was overflowing with love and joy for 31 years. John genuinely good person, and one of the best husbands, fathers, and grandfathers anyone could ever hope for.

A man of great faith and belief in Christ Jesus, John attended Promise Land Church of God In Christ under the leadership and guidance of the Pastor Willie Dawson. Through each season of his life, he remained steadfast—always giving God the praise.

John was a man of many talents and passions. For many years, his supreme culinary skills were put to test in numerous kitchens across the southwest Georgia area. Daily, he poured his heart and soul into his succulent creations. He worked diligently to ensure that his food was on the cutting edge of culinary trends. After a very successful culinary career, John transitioned to employment with Birdsong Peanuts where he worked untiringly until his retirement in 2017.

Often described as quiet and reserved, John was a man of few words—but his actions spoke loudly. He gave so much of himself not only to his family, but friends and neighbors as well. He will truly be missed.
