The season of life for Johnnie Mae Brown began in Arlington, Georgia on October 13, 1919.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Berry and Ella Brown.

During the early years of her life, she was educated in the Calhoun County School System.

Johnnie was raised in a Christian home where she was nurtured in the Word of God.   As a youth, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and began her journey of Christian stewardship.  She was a member of Rosehill Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health declined.  "Mother Brown," as she was endearingly called by many, was a prayer warrior who was strong in her faith, in character, and in wisdom.  She was a shining example of humility and respect, and God's love for all mankind was manifested through her deeds and actions.

As a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she was extremely conscientious in caring for the needs of her family.  Through the years, she was unwavering in her dedication to foster a home filled with love and joy, and was diligent in her actions to conquer any task placed before her.  Family was paramount and her commitment to them was the cornerstone of who she was.

Blessed beyond measure, Mother Brown lived a rich and rewarding life; reached the hallowed age of 101; and lived to see generations of her off-springs with whom she left a legacy of love, humility, generosity, and godliness.  She had a servant's heart and took great pride in using her God-given talents to help others.  She was considered by many as a wise and trusted counsel, a difference maker, and a strong but humble lady who will be missed dearly.

On September 13, 2020, Mother Brown was called home to eternal peace and rest.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her children, William Brown, Jerry James Carr, Willie Carr, and Leila Cannon; and four grandchildren, Shawn Carroll, Katina Carroll, Bonita Jones, and Luewanna Jones.

Loving memories will forever remain with her children, Doretha (Sterling) Dandy, Beatrice (Walter) Bullock, Martha Whitehead, and Queen Ester Brown all of Albany, GA, and Ella Mae Jones of Newark, NJ; grandchildren, Tresser Johnson, Colby (Erica) Carroll, Stephen Martin, Kaninja (Tommy) Carroll, Shaire (Leah) Johnson, Tenisha Cannon, Nakil (Latonya) Cannon, Adrian Cannon, Fayetta (Sammy) Cannon-Sawyer, Barbara Akanbi, Beesheba Douglas, Demetrius Jones, Lakesha Jones, Sabrina Jones, Harold Jackson, Willie Jones, and Alphonso Jones; great grandchildren, Decal Johnson, Virgil Johnson, and Colby Carroll, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends
