Johnny Lee Conley, son of the late Willie and Deloris Conley, was born in Albany, Georgia on August 13, 1958.
He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe Comprehensive High School in 1976. Throughout school, Johnny actively participated in various student-centered activities and events. Ready to serve his country after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served at numerous military installations.
Johnny was united in marriage to Deborah Walker. Their union was blessed with one son, Joshua. He was a loving father and took great care in providing for his family through his employment with Dougherty County Public Works. In later years, he relocated to Cairo, Georgia where he engaged in landscaping services for many years until his health declined. No job was too small or too large—he always tackled each task with equal measure.
A strong but gentle man, Johnny had a heart of gold and a smile that brought sunshine wherever he trod. He was a friend you could count on, a great listener, and was always ready to lend a helping hand. The strong bonds of friendship that he developed throughout his life will forever be remembered.
On August 8, 2023, Johnny transitioned from this earthly at Archbold Medical Center Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Conley.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his children, Joshua Conley and Petronnia Jones; grandchildren, Peaisley Jones, Mya Conley, and Joshua Conley, Jr.; his long-time friend and companion, Vanessa Perry; siblings, Jerry Conley, Jimmy (Mary) Conley, Annette Conley, and Patricia Conley; aunts, Tommie Mae Jones and Pearl Gibson; a very special niece, Sandy Robinson Conley; and a host of stepchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
