Johnny J. Harris was born was born December 24, 1956, in Albany, Georgia.   He was the beloved son of Ophelia Johnson and the late Annis Harris.

During the early years of his life, he received his formal education in the public schools of Dougherty County where he was active in numerous school organizations, activities and sporting events.

At a very early age, he professed his faith and belief in Jesus Christ and accepted Him as Lord and Savior of his life.

Johnny was a very persistent individual who gave his best at whatever he did.  For many years, he was employed in janitorial services at various companies in Albany and surrounding areas. He was a loving son, a dutiful father, a caring brother, a committed nephew, a nurturing uncle, and a loyal friend.  Even after relocating to Florida in 2010, Johnny would often return home to be with family and friends who were dear to his heart.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

On Monday, September 9, 2019, Johnny departed this earthly life at the AdventHealth Tampa in Tampa, Florida.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Jones; and his grandparents, Charles and Annie Harris.

Wonderful memories will be forever cherished by his daughter, Sharee Thomas; his mother, Ophelia Johnson; a devoted aunt who raised him as her own, Lillie Winkfield; siblings, Eddie Jones, Morris Jones, Kenny Scott, Annis (Peter) Harris, Wanda (James) Mingo, Teresa Harris, Kay Harris, Ann Marie Harris, Emmie Boone, Cynthia Washington, Deborah Wright, Mary (Karl) Laster, Danette Winkfield, and Danita (Eric) Hawes; aunts Eddie Mae Stephens, Sallie Harris, and Linda (Eddie) Hines; uncle, Cederick (Marsha) Jackson; a special cousin, Pearl (Robert) Huggins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
