Mr. Johnny "J.R." Lewis Holt was born February 6, 1950 to the late Mr. Sammie Lee Jones and the late Ms. Bessie Lou Holt. He was adopted by the late Mr. Lit and Apollonia Holt.
He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System. He was a graduate of Monroe High Class of 1968.
Johnny was raised in a Christian home where he was taught the Word of God and the importance of living a life of love and kindness. At an early age Johnny joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he was baptized.
"J.R." as he was affectionately known was no stranger to hard work. He was employed at Southern Bell, REA Express, and the Omni Hotel all in Atlanta, GA. His heart's desire was to always open his own business and in 2012 he did just that. He was the owner and operator of H&H Automotive of Albany, GA.
Johnny was known for his love of sports. He was a huge fan of the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Hawks.
On Thursday, February 4, 2021 he transcended from life on earth to spend life with or Lord. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Charles Jones.
The legacy of his life and love is filled with great memories. Johnny leaves to mourn the ultimate love of his life his "Sweetheart" as he often called her Juanita Ellis; two loving sons, Brian "Rico" Mallory (Ryan) of Atlanta GA, and Jerod Holt (Nicole) of Atlanta GA, one faithful, devoted, dedicated and loving daughter, Jeronda "TuTu" Holt Gardner of Albany, GA; nine grandchildren, Brian Hill, Mikaila Dixon, J'Nyan Dixon, Bryceson Mallory, Jalen Holt, Jerod Holt Jr., Renico Ellington, Cornelius Ellington, and JaKiya "Lil Johnny" Gardner; four great grandchildren, Jalen Holt, Jayla Holt, Jaxon Holt, and Nathaniel McKamie; three sisters, Valerie McMichael (Kate Holt) of Euclid Ohio, and Rita Hargrove (Robert) of Decatur GA, Zeronius Bradley of Dothan AL; three brothers, Sammie Jones II of Atlanta GA, Henry Don Jones of Greenville SC, and Casey Gene Jones of Atlanta GA; two God daughters, Tomeka Barnes and Chandra Thomas; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Johnny had his very own personal Chef Debra Staton.
