IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Johnny Lee
Howard
October 12, 1952 – December 13, 2023
Johnny Lee Howard was born in Dawson, Georgia on October 12, 1952. He was the beloved son of the late Wiley Howard and Ruby Mobley Howard.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Terrell County School System and actively participated in various school functions and events.
An exceptionally conscientious and persistent individual, John was a career employee with the Terrell County School System where he served as a custodian at Terrell High School. Throughout his tenure, he never shied away from hard work; tackled challenges head on; and worked tirelessly to support the students, teachers, and administrators while ensuring that the school environment was always clean and orderly. John was proud of the service he provided. He was a dedicated employee who always gave his best, and retired after rendering more than 25 years of unmatched service. Shortly after retirement, he relocated to Albany where he began the next chapter of his life.
At a young age, Johnny Lee accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. After moving to Albany, he united with the Turning Point Baptist Church under the leadership and guidance of Pastor Joseph Howard. He dearly loved the Lord and fervently sought to follow His teaching.
Truly, God's Word was a lamp unto his feet and a light unto his path.
Devoted husband, loving father, nurturing grandfather, committed brother, caring uncle, unforgettable cousin, and loyal friend, long-lasting relationships were vital to John and a source of great joy and fellowship. He stood ready at all times to help others—never asking anything in return. His kind and generous heart touched many lives in profound and positive ways. He will be dearly missed by all.
On December 13, 2023, John transitioned from this earthly life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Lee Howard, Willie Fred Howard, and William Howard.
Cherished memories will forever remain with his beloved wife of 28 years, Annie Clara Sutton Howard; his stepchildren, Kervin Arnold, Eddie Turner, and Katrina Washington; siblings, Arnita Howard, Mary Howard, Patricia (Arthur) Grier, Wiley Howard, and Benny Lee Howard; nine step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
