Obituary

Johnny Lee Riggins was born in Camilla, Georgia on February 27, 1956.  He was the son of Lucille and William Henry Riggins.

He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System where he was actively involved in various school organizations, activities and sporting events.

Early in life, he began his fellowship with Christ at Macedonia Baptist Church and remained steadfast throughout his earthly journey.

Johnny was a very conscientious, hardworking individual who was not afraid of hard work and gave his very best at whatever he did.  For numerous years, he was employed as a brick mason with several contractors in Albany and surrounding areas.  He later ventured into landscaping, working tirelessly to ensure that no stone was left unturned and that his work was immaculate.

Often described as an energetic, funny, stubborn but loving individual, Johnny had a special way of making people feel good about themselves.  He was a friend you could depend on and was always ready to lend a helping hand.  Family meant the world to him and he delighted in spending quality time with them—especially his nieces and nephews who held the key to his heart.  His strong family ties and deep bonds of friendship that he developed through the years will long be remembered by all who knew and love him dearly.  In his leisure, he enjoyed listening to "old school" music and the electrifying sounds of Michael Jackson.

On July 9, 2020, Johnny departed this earthly life.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille and William Henry Riggins.

Loving memories will be forever cherished by his caring siblings, William H. Riggins, Jr., Darnell Riggins, Felton H. Riggins, Will Carl Riggins, and Rosa Lee Riggins all of Albany, GA, Danny Lee Riggins and Ardell Riggins of Panama City, FL, Tony Riggins and William S. Cook Riggins of Atlanta, GA, Lisa Ann Riggins of Sylvester, GA, and Karen Riggins Works of Colorado Springs, CO; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
