Johnny Lee Williams was born in Albany, Georgia on August 7, 1956. He was the beloved son of of the late Reverend Elijah "Rabbitman" Williams and Betty Mathis Williams.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System. Throughout school, "Coon" as he was endearingly called by family and friends, was an energetic, strong-willed young many who was always ready for adventure. He had a serious sparkle in his eyes, a mind that never ceased questioning, and a zeal for learning and growing.
Coon had the great advantage of growing up in a loving, God-fearing home where he was nurtured in the Word of God. He dearly loved the Lord and remained prayerful throughout life's journey.
Having acquired valuable technical and life skills while in school, Coon's work ethics developed early as he engaged in a very diverse professional career. He began his work experience at Rabbitman's Footwear and Shoe Shine under the tutelage of his father who was a master craftsman. Over the years, he worked diligently to master the skills necessary to become a successful businessman. In later years, he became the owner/operator of "Rabbitman's" in the post office building in downtown Albany. He was also employed at Burger King for numerous years and later accepted a management position at McDonald's. Coon was a persistent, conscientious worker whose employment was marked by honesty and integrity.
Johnny had a great love of family. As a devoted husband, he was generous, kind, and supportive. The 19-year marriage to Vickie Taylor was a true love story filled with care, laughter and surprises. She was his shining star. As a father, he was steadfast in providing the children with the tools necessary to maneuver through anything that they would face in life. He loved his family dearly and would do anything in his power to help them.
An extremely straight-forward, unpretentious individual, Coon was also the voice of calm and humility. He was highly respected and admired, and his laughter oftentimes filled a room with cheer. Not only was he an extraordinary husband, father, and grandfather, he was also an awesome brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who will be dearly missed..
On September 9, 2022, Johnny was called home to his eternal resting place.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Delijah Duvall, Vickie Thomas, and Cathy Jackson; and his brother-in-law, Henry Solomon.
He leaves fond memories that will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Vickie Taylor Williams; loving stepchildren, Lavonda Taylor, Latoya Jenkins, Keisha Taylor, Jerry Coleman, Tamara Taylor, and Anthony Taylor; siblings, Nathaniel (Jo) Hollis, Patricia Williams, Tony (Charlie) Williams, Brenda Solomon, Etta Williams, Elijah Williams, Jr., Cornelius Williams, Great Harris, and Grindal Laster; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
