IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph Wright,
Jr.
April 29, 1949 – March 13, 2025
In the providence of God, the sunrise that brought a new life to the late Joseph Sr., and Gladys Wright occurred on April 29, 1949. The light that was born in Ty Ty, GA was namesake, Mr. Joseph Wright Jr, affectionately known as "Joe."
"Joe" was educated in the Berrien County School System graduating from Berrien County High School. Fulfilling a call to leave civilian life for a life of service, Mr. Wright joined the United States Army. He was among those to serve in the Vietnam War and safely return home.
In 1991, James Cleveland wrote these lyrics: "If anyone should ever write, my life story… For whatever reason there might be. You'd be there, between each line of pain and glory. Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me." The young version of Joe agreed with Dr. Cleveland and believed on the Lord Jesus. As he matured, he later joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Daniel Simmons.
Love is a garden that yields seed-bearing fruit. Mr. Wright planted his garden of love in holy matrimony to Verda Wright. The fruit of their love was expressed in two beautiful children, Joel and Kim. As with most gardens, seasons change the plants that thrive though the garden remains. In the latter season of love, Joseph Wright, Jr. married Marie Robinson and nurtured the garden of their love to the very end.
As a retired veteran, Mr. Joseph Wright built a career with Firestone Tire and Rubber Plant in Albany, GA. Joseph enjoyed reading and often expressed his creativity through his love of music, and drawing.
As the sun rises it also is guaranteed to set. The sun set on the life of Joseph Wright, Jr. on Thursday, March 13, 2025. This setting only ushered him into an eternal sunrise in the radiant presence of our holy God. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
