IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph Erwin
Lee
January 25, 1960 – July 7, 2022
Joseph E. Lee, beloved son of the late Joseph and Lula Lee, was born in New York, New York on January 25, 1960.
His professional career was spent sharing his extraordinary culinary skills in all of the places that he called home, including New York, New Jersey, and Georgia. Over the years, his tempo was nonstop as he skillfully commanded kitchens and carried high standards.
Joseph was a devout Christian and spent countless hours sharing Jesus and words of wisdom—especially with his Facebook community. His life was dedicated to service and he was always "on call" to lend a helping hand, perform a kind deed, or provide a word of encouragement and support. He had a big heart for all things in life, found joy in every circumstance, and was humbled by the smiles of all whom he came in contact with.
Gifted with exceptional talents and skills, Joseph enjoyed photography, poetry, and story writing. His mastery of children stories was phenomenal and they were aired on family radio, thus, becoming a staple in many households. Joseph also had a love for black history, which was evidenced by his favorite leather jacket and hat; his VHS library of Malcolm X movies; and his canvases of black figures. Yes, he was truly a "man of all seasons" who loved spending time with family and friends, had a talent for making people feel special, and relished in creating unforgettable memories.
Joseph transitioned peacefully on July 7, 2022, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother, Malcom Lee.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his children, Dwain Lee, Jody Lee Skyers, and Josiah Lee; siblings, Cheryl Barrow and Edmund Lee; grandchildren, Mia Lee, Julia Lee, Micah Skyers, and Joshua Skyers; and a host of extended family and friends.
